Library Information
Circulation
Students may check out two books for a period of 3-28 days, unless noted otherwise. Restrictions may apply to high use items. RENEWALS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON ANY BOOK. All checkouts are handled at the circulation desk.
A VALID OMS LIBRARY CARD IS REQUIRED TO CHECK OUT LIBRARY MATERIALS. The first library card is provided at no cost. This card is for all years at Ocoee Middle School. The first replacement card is a dollar. Additional replacement cards issued within a school year are two dollars each.
Each student assumes responsibility for the library books that he/she checks out. No student should check out books in the name of another student or loan books to another student. Students are responsible for checking the condition of books before checking them out. All items are checked carefully for damages upon return.
Books returned on or before the due date should be placed in the BOOK RETURN at the circulation desk. All overdue books must be handled by the library staff.
Books not returned on or before the due date are overdue books. A one-day grace period is given for overdue books. If a book is returned after the grace period, a fine of ten cents per day is charged. Students with overdue books or excessive fines are not allowed to check out books until the fine is paid. Overdue fines are not charged on days that a student has an excused absence, providing that the student returns the book promptly with an excused absence slip.
Any student who loses or damages library materials should report the loss or damage to the library immediately. Students are required to pay the replacement cost and a non-refundable loss fee of two dollars for any lost or damaged books. Expenses for damage to book covers, labels, book pages, and barcodes may also be charged.
